Antioxidants

The main antioxidants are specific groups of vitamins, minerals and enzymes. They aim at protecting our body from the development of free radicals. The function of such an enzyme will be ensured by an appropriate diet including a large amount of antioxidants. This means a diet based on vitamin A, E and C, selenium and other nutrients. These antioxidants act also upon free radicals, that they neutralised.

What are free radicals?

Free radicals are high unstable molecules in our body, which can destroy tissues through the oxidation of cellular membranes and through the deterioration of the genetic information. Free radicals are elaborated under the classical metabolism process; through breathed air (when we do sport; it speeds up the deterioration driven by free radicals), through food we assimilate, through cigarettes smoke, excessive sun top and pollution. Antioxidants regulate and neutralise the free radicals naturally produced by our body, before they could cause any deterioration. When you do sport or when you are under pressure, it is recommended to eat a larger amount of antioxidants.

Folic acids

Folic acids are often resorted as the food of the brain and are used to produce energy and to elaborate red corpuscles. Folic acids induce the development of the nervous cells of the embryo and foetus. They are also essential for a normal growth and development.

Bioflavonoids and citrus bioflavonoids complex

Bioflavonoids tend to favour the assimilation of vitamin C and it is recommended to combine bioflavonoids and vitamin C in your diet. The human body is unable to produce bioflavonoids which have also to be provided by food. Bioflavonoids are often used in case of sport injuries as they soothe pains, knocks and contusions. Further more, bioflavonoids work against bacteria, keep the body and especially its cycle in good working order, induce a fluid secretion of the bile and help to reduce a too high blood cholesterol level.
